Chris graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1998 and began a career in the telecommunications industry.  Although the industry itself was intriguing, he eventually realized that his desire to make a difference in the lives of others was not being satisfied.

During his quest to find an occupation that fulfilled this desire, his father was terminally diagnosed with cancer.  After his passing, Chris felt inadequate to help his widowed mother navigate through the financial affairs.  He was frustrated by the lack of professionals that seemed willing to genuinely assist, but were quick to bill for their time.

The silver lining of this experience is that it helped Chris to find his calling.

In 2004, Chris began his career as a financial advisor and eagerly worked with widows, being able to relate to their stress. In the years that followed he received referrals from those going through a marital separation since many of the same planning principles apply.  While Chris finds helping others navigate through difficult periods of transition to be quite rewarding, he certainly enjoys working with couples, families, and single individuals as well.  His goal is to have a positive impact on his clients’ lives.

To better serve his clients, Chris has obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ designation. See Chris’ Qualifications to learn more about these designations.

He is a member of the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals – a group focused upon alternative dispute resolution methods related to divorce. Chris also remains a member the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He was initially trained in the Collaborative process in 2012 in addition to 30 hours of mediation training in 2013.

Chris is a proud parent of his two children that both attend Penn State University. In his new found free time as an empty nester, he enjoys staying active through skiing, cycling, and yoga.
